silliest hang gliding moments ........ did the Blackpool Birdman

competition one year ( about 1985/6 ) leaping off Blackpool pier on a Super Scorpion hang glider into the sea

....... a stint as a hang gliding bum for a little while although lived in a Datsun 180B and tent as opposed to a Volkswagen camper !!

....... on classic cross country days doing lots of one thermal wonders ending up sitting on the ground not too far behind the hill because I was keen but cr--p!!

........Memorable sailplane moments ....5500 ft in a sea breeze front / convergence over the Duddon estuary with CFI Dave North and having to burn it off because the hour was up.

....... giving Alan Meadows a bit of a fright on aerotow when I got badly out of shape at no more than 200 feet ..... he released me from the tug end. I then made it even worse and gave

Peter Lewis in the back even more of a fright as I unlocked the airbrakes at the same time as trying to release the tow cable.

........ struggling with that bloody rudder to co-ordinate my turns .... bank, rudder, pull back instead of just bank and push out

........ having a really strong urge to get my legs out , flare and start running on finals for a landing

Club Trophies: The Optimum Financial Services Trophy in the K21 for a gain of 11350 ft in March 2006
